06:00  Connect to Claude
Cadence connector for Claude

Connect Cadence to Claude.

Cadence is the executive operating layer for senior leaders and their executive assistants — daily planning, focus time, decisions, transcripts, calendar and strategic drivers. With the Cadence connector for Claude, you can ask Claude to review your day, log meetings, capture follow-ups, delegate, and run reflections without leaving the conversation.

08:00  Before you start
What you'll need

A few minutes, and no API key.

There is nothing to copy, paste or rotate. Cadence registers the connector for you and authorises it with your normal sign-in.

01

A Cadence account at app.stratiumhq.com.

02

Claude Desktop (macOS or Windows), or access to the Claude.ai connectors UI.

03

A few minutes — there is no API key to copy, paste or rotate.

09:00  Setup
Add the connector

Add it once. You're connected.

In Claude Desktop, paste one URL and leave the OAuth fields blank. A browser window opens on app.stratiumhq.com — sign in with your usual Cadence credentials (passkey, password, magic link, or your tenant's SSO provider) and approve the consent screen.

Remote MCP server URLhttps://api.stratiumhq.com/mcp
  1. 01

    Open the connectors settings

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors, or the equivalent on Claude.ai web.

  2. 02

    Add a custom connector

    Click Add custom connector.

  3. 03

Paste the Cadence MCP server URL

In the "Remote MCP server URL" field, paste https://api.stratiumhq.com/mcp.

  4. 04

    Leave the OAuth fields blank

Leave the OAuth client ID and OAuth client secret fields blank — Cadence registers the connector automatically.

  5. 05

    Click Add and sign in

Click Add. A browser window opens on app.stratiumhq.com. Sign in with your usual Cadence credentials, then click Allow on the consent screen to finish.

After signing in, Cadence shows a consent screen listing what the connector can do — read your work items, plans, decisions, calendar and transcripts; create or update items on your behalf; and stay connected so it can refresh access without prompting you again. Click Allow to finish. The browser tab closes automatically, and Cadence appears as a connector in your Claude Desktop sidebar.

Three prompts for a first tour.

Paste any of these into Claude once the connector is added. The first is read-only; the second writes but is reversible; the third delegates, and Claude confirms before anything destructive.

01
Open Cadence and tell me what's on my plan today. Group it by strategic driver, flag anything that's been carried forward more than twice, and tell me which items are due today vs which I've assigned to focus blocks.
Read-only. Claude won't change anything.
02
I just had a 1:1 with my COO. Please log this as a meeting interaction with her, record three follow-ups: (1) draft the Q3 board update by Friday, (2) approve the new vendor onboarding template, (3) chase finance on the budget reconciliation. Tag them all to the 'Operating excellence' driver if it exists.
A write flow — but every action is reversible.
03
Find the 'chase finance' follow-up I created earlier and delegate it to my EA, with context that it's blocking the Q3 board update.
A delegation flow. Claude confirms before it runs anything destructive.
12:00  Scope
What the connector can see

Scoped to your tenant. Nothing more.

The connector can read and write the same data you see when you sign in to Cadence directly — work items, daily plans, focus blocks, calendar events, transcripts, decisions, projects, strategic drivers, reflections and your executive context. It cannot reach data in tenants you don't belong to, and it never sees your password. If you're an Executive Assistant with delegation set up by your principal, the connector picks up your assignments and follows whichever principal you're currently viewing.

Can read & write
Everything you can see in Cadence. Work items, daily plans, focus blocks, calendar events, transcripts, decisions, projects, strategic drivers, reflections and your executive context — all scoped to your tenant.
Can't see
Anything outside Cadence. Not your other Claude conversations, not files you've uploaded directly to Claude, and nothing outside your Cadence tenant.
14:00  Security
Security model

Built on the Anthropic-compliant OAuth flow.

No long-lived API keys are ever shared with Claude. The connector uses the full OAuth 2.1 flow with PKCE, rotating refresh tokens, and tenant isolation at every layer.

OAuth 2.1 + PKCE
The full Anthropic-compliant OAuth flow. Cadence implements OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. No long-lived API keys are ever shared with Claude.
Token rotation
Refresh-token rotation with reuse detection. If a refresh token is ever used twice, Cadence revokes the entire chain and you'll need to reconnect.
Audience binding
Tokens are bound to the Cadence MCP server (RFC 8707). Tokens minted for the Cadence MCP server cannot be replayed against any other resource.
Tenant isolation
Every API call is scoped to your tenant claim. Cross-tenant data access is blocked at every layer.
Encrypted at rest
Calendar OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted. When stored, they are encrypted by ASP.NET Data Protection.
Audit log
Every consent, revocation and change is recorded. Connector consent grants, revocations, work-item changes, decision updates and EA delegation are recorded in a tamper-evident audit log available to your tenant admin.

The full data architecture, encryption and authentication posture is on the Trust and security page.

16:00  Control
Disconnect and privacy

Turn it off whenever you like.

01

To disconnect, open Cadence → Connections → Connected apps and click Disconnect next to the Claude entry. That immediately revokes access.

02

Any in-flight access tokens become invalid within an hour; the refresh token is killed straight away. You can also remove the connector from Claude Desktop's settings.

03

The connector inherits Cadence's Privacy Policy. It introduces no new data handling beyond what Cadence already does, under UK GDPR.

How we collect, retain and process data — and your rights under UK GDPR — is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Common issues

Quick fixes, answered plainly.

"Unknown client_id" when I click Allow.
Claude has a stale registration cached. Fully quit Claude Desktop (Cmd-Q on macOS), reopen, remove the Cadence connector under Settings → Connectors, and add it again. The next attempt will use a fresh registration.
The browser opens on a blank /oauth/authorize page.
Same fix — it's a stale registration. Remove and re-add the connector in Claude Desktop.
"Disconnect" didn't seem to do anything.
Wait a minute — the access token has up to 60 minutes of remaining life by design. The refresh token is dead immediately, so the connector will be locked out as soon as the next refresh attempt happens. To force the issue, also remove the connector from Claude Desktop.
The connector doesn't see my data.
Confirm you're signed in to Cadence as the same user account whose data you expect. If you're an EA, switch to the principal you want to view from the principal switcher at the top of Cadence — the connector follows that selection. Anything else — use Report a problem in the Cadence sidebar.
